First (or To Avoid Shoving Down a Spoonful of Cinnamon Powder Down My Throat)

Aside from “Bora Body” and “Fluent in Mandarin”, the item that I have never been able to cross out of my goals list is “Blog”.

I’ve had it on my “life notebook” ever since I’ve learned about the importance of setting goals for myself back in 2nd year college. Back then it was only a “nice to have” as my main purpose for it was to be some sort of diary for myself.

Then, after my mind-blowing experience in the Shanghai World Expo in 2010, I came back home promising myself to blog about the wonderful message the expo had me wanting to live and breathe, “Better City, Better Life”. Alas, the pictures I thoughtfully took to match the captions I had in mind have never seen the light outside my external hard drive.

I thought moving to a new location was the perfect time to really kick-start my blogging as I was going to experience new things that I could share to people. But this too didn’t work. For the past 2 years, I’ve lived in Singapore, Thailand and the US – and at each time I moved, I told myself “this is it. I will definitely write this time!” But alas, either I got too carried away from traveling all around or I’m just really lazy (I’ll bet on the latter). If I started earlier, I could have written about so many things already with all the city-hopping I’ve done.

Now I’m back in Singapore and settling down again, I told myself “THIS TIME I GOT TO WRITE,”and I will! If I don’t get around doing it this time, I would stop trying the next time I move again somewhere. Plus there’s a looming consequence imposed by my bossy caring colleague that if I don’t post anything by today (April 21st 2013), and 1 post every week succeeding, I have to shove a spoonful of cinnamon powder down my throat! Now that’s an effective threat!

Not me!
